Some job applications require you to complete a personality test as part of your job application. This is said to determine whether a candidate is a good 'social' fit an organization.
I believe 'personality' tests border on psychological testing and should not be part of a job application process and if they are included they should be voluntary and not mandatory.
Several companies are using YouTube or other video type applications to tell applicants about their company. I find It rare that these are closed captioned or have a text version for screen readers to use of what is being said and do not get a good impression of the company's mission to increase diversity. Several job applications contained disclaimers which were mild reminders to bordering on threatening. It appears to be legalese driven that these disclaimers are even posted. These are job applications that have agreements you must agree to move forward in the application process. The mandatory salary/wage question for previous jobs and job applying must be complete or your application will not be considered. Previous job compensation should have no bearing on applying for a job. Salary and wage should not be a mandatory part of a job application as it is not directly related to a persons knowledge, skills or ability to do the job. A company's intranet often have many of the same issues experienced with Internet accessibility. It has been my experience that HR does not know whether a request can be reasonably accommodated or not and many companies/individuals do not have experience with common assistive technology making such requests burdensome. It would be helpful if all job openings both public and private used an industry standard job code as part of the job description. This would allow potential job candidates to identify job openings that are based on a job's standard requirements and those that have been added as custom/cross-over requirements.
